(Goesan=Yonhap News) Reporter Yoon Woo-yong = On the 2nd, Goesan County in North Chungcheong announced that it will provide disaster relief funds to ginseng farmers affected by the heat wave in July and August.
During the heat wave, 110 farms in 11 towns and townships, including Goesan Town, were damaged.
The affected area is 90.73 hectares, and the damage amount is approximately 390 million won. The disaster relief funds will be provided differently based on the affected area.
The county plans to distribute the disaster relief funds by the end of November.
County head Song In-heon said, "To minimize the damage to farms caused by repeated abnormal weather conditions such as low temperatures, heavy rain, and heat waves every year, we will expand response measures, including reducing the agricultural burden rate of crop disaster insurance from 7.5% to 5%."
