Argentina: Good feelings about the new chickpea campaign

While wheat planting projections continue to improve, there is another winter crop that is bubbling with optimism. It is about the chickpea: in Córdoba, the Grain Exchange of that province estimates a sowing that will be 43% higher than last year. Meanwhile, other factors that influence the planting decision of Córdoba producers are the climate forecast, as well as seed rotation and quality, although to a lesser extent. An important fact to take into account in this context is that these 23,400 hectares, if confirmed, will consolidate the recovery path of this legume that grew a lot in Córdoba during the last decade, to the point that it generated the installation of numerous processing plants and the birth of a specific cluster, but which also experienced a deep downturn.
