The Myanmar Avocado Planting, Producing and Exporting Association has made a significant breakthrough by successfully converting Myanmar avocados into high-value frozen purees. The association has reached an agreement with Malaysia for the export of these purees, with the sale details nearly finalized, except for the price. This development is set to greatly benefit Myanmar avocado farmers, especially those struggling to meet export standards. Additionally, avocados that do not meet export standards can still be processed into frozen purees for export, providing an alternative source of income for farmers. The avocado cultivation is mainly concentrated in southern and northern Shan State and Pyin Oo Lwin in Mandalay Province.
