Government develops a mechanism to optimize the fishing possibilities of quotas assigned to Spain

(EUROPA PRESS) - The Council of Ministers has approved this Tuesday, at the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, to incorporate an optimization mechanism into the royal decree that regulates the exercise of fishing in national fishing grounds (RD 502/2022, of June 27) which aims to make the most of all the possibilities of the fishing quotas assigned to Spain. Specifically, this mechanism is recognized in the Sustainable Fishing and Fisheries Research Law, in force since last March, and will apply to all fishing grounds, national and international, and to all fishing gear and modalities.
