REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) ensures that the distribution of basic goods remains normal despite the recent days of demonstrations in several areas. The Director General of Domestic Trade (PDN) of Kemendag, Iqbal Shoffan Shofwan, acknowledged that there were slight obstacles but these did not disrupt the availability of essential goods for the public. “The demonstrations over the last three days, from Thursday, Friday, Saturday, to Sunday, certainly had a slight impact on distribution, but it was not significant,” said Iqbal after a coordination meeting related to the Acceleration of the Development of National Self-Sufficient Food, Energy, and Water Zones, as well as discussions on issues related to the waste to energy program and food security at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs office in Jakarta, Monday (1/9/2025).
