The South Korean government plans to stabilize the supply and demand of kimchi ingredients by supplying 11,000 tons of agricultural products like cabbage and radish, as well as 10,000 tons of sea salt. They predict no issues with supply and demand during the peak kimchi season, but anticipate rising prices for red pepper powder and green onions due to decreased supply. To ease the burden on shoppers, the government will invest more than 13.8 billion won into discount support for agricultural and marine products and increase the purchase limit for Onnuri gift certificates at traditional markets.
