As the government considers opening apple imports as a negotiation card for mutual tariff talks with the United States, apple producer groups and agricultural organizations are strongly protesting. On the 9th, the "Farmers' Path with the People" held a rally in front of the Presidential Office in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, condemning the opening of apple imports. The Farmers' Path is a coalition of agricultural organizations consisting of a total of 8 groups, including the National Apple Producers Association and the National Farmers' Association. The participants in the rally issued a resolution stating that "the government's push for U.S. imports and moves to relax quarantine conditions are trampling on the survival rights of our farmers and completely destroying the future of agriculture in the Republic of Korea."
