Russia: Grain exporters supported by reduced competition

Most of the largest grain traders from the Rostov region increased grain export volumes in the record season 2022/2023. According to the expert, despite the export duty and the decline in world prices, exporters’ margins remained high due to decreased competition and the fact that prices within Russia fell faster than world prices. In the ranking of the largest domestic grain exporters, compiled by the ProZerno analytical agency based on the results of the 2022/2023 agricultural season, the number of companies headquartered in the Rostov region remained the same. The RIF Trade House took the lead in the ranking, with Aston in third place for the second year in a row. The STEPPE agricultural holding, after declining last year, returned to the top of the second ten.
