The Voronezh Region in Russia, which declared a state of emergency due to drought, has seen a significant decrease in its agricultural output, with farmers harvesting 4 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, marking a 35% decrease from 2023. Despite the challenges caused by the weather, Governor Alexander Gusev deemed the harvest sufficient. The region also harvested 5 million tons of sugar beets and over 1 million tons of sunflower. The state of emergency was introduced due to crop damage from the drought, affecting 100 thousand hectares or 3.7% of all crops.
