The UN estimates that the world price index for agricultural products reached its lowest level in two years in June due to lower prices of sugar, oil, dairy products, and cereals. The FAO Food Price Index decreased by 1.4 percent from May and 23.4 percent from its peak in March 2022. The decline in prices can be attributed to increased corn supplies from Argentina and Brazil, improved production outlooks in the US, sufficient wheat supply, and a lower export tax in Russia.
