Brazil: The 2023/24 soybean harvest in Paraná could fall 2.7% to 21.752 million tons

São Paulo, 11/30/2023 - The soybean planting area in the State of Paraná in the 2023/24 harvest is expected to reach 5.780 million hectares, which corresponds to an increase of around 1.5% compared to the previous season 2022/23, projected at 5.693 million hectares. The numbers are part of a monthly survey by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the Paraná Department of Agriculture, released today. Soybean production in Paraná is estimated at 21.752 million tons, which corresponds to a drop of around 2.7% compared to the previous harvest, projected at 22.358 million tons. The average productivity of oilseed crops could reach 3,749 kg/hectare compared to 3,869 kg/ha in 2022/23, a decline of 3.1%.
