The definition is in Ordinance No. 867, published in the Official Gazette of the Union, after approval by the National Monetary Council (CMN) based on a proposal from the National Company for Food Supply (Conab). According to Conab, "the appreciation of the minimum price follows the increase in variable production costs of the fruit." The company points out that fertilizers, tractors and harvesters, agrochemicals, and labor were the items that most influenced the increase in costs, with participations of 6.2%, 11.8%, 13.4%, and 21.2%, respectively. The agency states that the new value "enables the viticulturist to cover at least the variable production costs," in addition to contributing to the continuity of the activity.
