Millions of fruit trees will be planted in Tajikistan

In Tajikistan, they plan to plant 65 million trees and shrubs on an area of more than 4 thousand hectares by the end of 2025. Fruit trees, rose hips and pine will be planted the most, writes Asia-Plus. The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, taking into account global climate change and the need to develop green energy, adopted the “Green Country” program designed for 2023-2027. The total amount for the implementation of the program is 129 million 875 thousand somoni (more than $11.8 million). The program is being implemented in two stages - the first covers 2023-2025, the second - 2026-2027. To implement the first stage, 67 million 865 thousand somoni (about $6.2 million) are allocated. The sources of finance are the state budget ($3.1 million), own funds ($1.55 million) and funds from development partners ($1.55 million).
