The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has launched a global initiative called "One Country, One Priority Producer" (OCOP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture. This initiative aims to improve the agricultural and food system of producers and reduce negative impacts, with a focus on green production, storage, processing, and marketing. Egypt has chosen dates as a priority product due to its significant production, and the project aims to develop sustainable value chains, support small farmers, and improve access to markets while protecting the environment and biodiversity in the Near East and North Africa region.
