The Dutch government, led by Minister Christianne van der Wal, has announced a significant increase in funding for voluntary schemes aimed at reducing nitrogen emissions from agriculture. The budget for the Lbv and Lbv-plus schemes will be boosted by nearly 1.45 billion euros, with the Lbv-plus scheme extended until December 20, 2024, due to over 1,300 applications from entrepreneurs. The total budget will now be 1.102 billion euros for the Lbv and 1.820 billion euros for the Lbv-plus, ensuring all approved applications can be funded. This move, approved by the European Commission, allows the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) to proceed with positive decisions for applicants, with the amended regulations effective immediately upon publication in the Government Gazette.
