The President of the Ghana Rice Inter Professional Body (GRIB), Nana Adjei Ayeh, is encouraging Ghanaians to support locally produced rice to boost local farmers, create jobs, and reduce reliance on imports. The local rice industry is currently facing challenges such as outdated farming techniques and limited access to quality seeds, leading to a reliance on imported rice that makes up nearly half of the national demand. A new partnership between GRIB and agro-input supplier Calli Ghana aims to address some of these challenges by improving farmers' access to essential farming inputs.
