In Vietnam's Kon Trai village, located on the Ngoc Linh mountain range, residents are embracing a new agricultural model that has proven to enhance their economic well-being by cultivating ginger over rice and wheat. Initiated with support from the commune government and cooperatives, this model has shown promising results, with families who participated last year earning significant income. The ginger is grown across 16 hectares, with plans to expand to 100 hectares in the next three years, including ginger, turmeric, and garlic. The model promotes organic and biological farming, adhering to strict standards for export to Europe, and is particularly beneficial for the Xo Dang people due to its low technology requirements and alignment with their farming traditions.
