Guerrero state in Mexico is a major coconut producer, accounting for 80.6% of the country's total production, primarily in the municipality of Tecpan de Galeana. Despite challenges like Covid-19 and the 'yellowing' disease, the industry remains resilient, covering over 127 thousand hectares and producing 226 million coconuts annually. These coconuts are crucial for local economies and employment, with over 23 thousand producers. The oil obtained from the copra is sold locally, nationally, and internationally, generating over 2.22 billion pesos despite the pandemic.
