Saurashtra is experiencing severe crop damage due to heavy continuous rainfall, affecting the yield of millet, sesame, cotton, and groundnut. Millet and sesame crops are showing significant damage as the rain causes seeds to sprout and pods to discolor and fall off. Groundnut and cotton, the region's major cash crops, are also at risk due to potential pod rotting and bud fall, respectively. The ongoing monsoon conditions are not favorable for these crops as they require dry and sunny days. The extended rainfall, which has been falling for over two weeks, has led to sown areas exceeding the average by 134% for groundnut and 85.14% for cotton.
