South Korea's Gyeongbuk Province has developed the '2024 Rice Appropriate Production Plan' to balance rice supply and demand. The plan, which includes five projects such as direct payments for strategic crops and support for rice paddy cultivation, aims to reduce the rice cultivation area by 2,562 ha in 2022. The province will invest 15.6 billion won, a 73% increase from the previous year, to implement these measures and address the issue of rice oversupply due to declining consumption.
