South Korea: Gyeonggi-do promotes new oyster mushroom varieties in Melbourne, Australia

[Reporter Lee Jang-hee, Korea Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper] On November 18-19, the Gyeonggi Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services promoted a new Gyeonggi-bred oyster variety in Melbourne, Australia, together with the Gyeonggi Province Specialized Crop Development Association and Chain Mushroom. According to Gyeonggi Province, Australia ranks third in the total export share of Korean mushrooms as of 2021 ($8.018 million) and is one of the top exporters of oyster mushrooms. Through this promotional activity, the province introduced ‘Manseon’, a newly applied variety, and ‘KA111’, an excellent strain, and exported 1,350 kg as an event quantity.
