[Reporter Lee Jang-hee, Korea Farmers' News] If Yeoncheon and Gapyeong counties in Gyeonggi Province are selected for the 'Rural Basic Income Pilot Project', the province will provide approximately 56.2 billion won annually to the two regions. According to recent information from Gyeonggi Province, the government plans to push forward the 'Rural Basic Income Pilot Project' for two years starting in 2026. Applications will be accepted until October 13 for regions with declining populations nationwide, and around six to seven counties out of 69 will be selected. The project will operate by providing 150,000 won per month in local currency. Currently, Yeoncheon County and Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi Province are included in the target areas for application submission and are preparing to submit their applications. The issue is one of the conditions of the pilot project, which includes 40% national funding, local funding.
