South Korea: Gyeongnam seafood export achieved maximum performance

Despite the decline in national seafood exports, Gyeongnam seafood exports reached $251 million last year, an increase of 3.5% from the previous year, reaching an all-time record. Gyeongnam Province (Governor Park Wan-soo) announced on the 11th that it was provisionally calculated that last year's seafood exports amounted to $251 million, surpassing the all-time high of $244 million in 2011 for the first time in 12 years. Last year, the national seafood export amount was about $3 billion (provisional count), a decrease of about 4.6% compared to 2022, but Gyeongnam increased by 3.5% compared to the previous year. Gyeongnam’s share of national exports is 8.4%. It rose 0.7% compared to the previous year. It ranks 4th in the country after Busan, Seoul, and Jeonnam.
