Hake resource will be preserved

The Ministry of Production (Produce) authorized the Peruvian Sea Institute (Imarpe) to carry out Operation Merluza XXXI, from August 25 to 27, in the maritime area between the extreme north of the Peruvian maritime domain and Punta La Negra (06º00'S). The operation will have the participation of four main fishing vessels and one alternate fishing vessel that have a valid fishing permit and operate under the Provisional Fishing Regime for the Hake Resource (Merluccius gayi peruanus). This operation will evaluate the evolution of the reproductive process and the characteristics of the size structure of the hake resource in the established distribution area.
