Hake production has seen a surge in Argentina due to the return of the fresh fleet from the shrimp season, leading to a decrease in the price of the fish to between 39 and 40 pesos plus VAT from 80 pesos per kilo last winter. This has sparked interest in hake in Brazil, with plans to increase stock by the end of the year and during Easter 2021. Despite this, Brazil's reception of Argentine fishery products has seen a 15% decrease in volume and a 28% decrease in value compared to the same period last year. The demand is now reversing slightly, with a slight price improvement, particularly for hake products with added value.
