Over two and a half months of adverse weather conditions, including heavy rainfall, low temperatures, and lack of sunshine, have caused significant damage to crops in the Valencian Community, affecting 120,000 hectares and resulting in losses exceeding €150 million, according to a study by the growers' association Ava-Asaja. The most severely affected crops are citrus, almonds, stone fruit, persimmons, and vegetables, with the citrus sector experiencing the worst losses of approximately €80 million due to dropped fruit and rotting blossoms. The almond sector faces up to €18 million in losses from frost damage, and stone fruit crops are also damaged from rain during the flowering phase. Vegetable crops, particularly onions and potatoes, have seen direct losses from torrential rain that destroyed fields, and the sowing of tiger nuts has been delayed due to the delay.
