Hass avocado from Guatemala is one step away from entering the US

The US Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) authority communicated the authorization to import Hass avocado from Guatemala, but producers say that shipments cannot be made yet due to pending procedures. The notification has been well received by Guatemalan producers of the fruit, but they have highlighted that there are pending legal procedures, which after being published will allow the first shipments to be made between January and February next year, prior to the Super Bowl scheduled for February 25, 2025.
