In Greece, farmers are facing significant challenges with wheat yields being reduced by up to 40% in dry fields and those without storage options being forced to sell at low prices. However, a portion of the production (35%) with long shelf life is expected to be fixed at a higher price of 24 to 25 cents per kilo. The import of corn is expected to be scarce and expensive, with prices required to be at least 25 to 26 cents per kilo. French farmers are currently harvesting corn at 215 euros, taking advantage of their geographical location to secure cheaper corn from the international surplus. The prices for corn in France are currently around 210-215 euros per ton for November contracts and close to 215-220 euros per ton for March contracts, despite the significant surplus in Atlantic.
