Italy: High prices for small fruits in national fruit and vegetable markets

Italian strawberries, affected by bad weather, are complemented by soon-to-be-arriving Sicilian strawberries, which have caused a drop in strawberry prices from 28 to 18/19 euros for 2 kg. Blueberries, especially Peruvian ones, cost over 20 euros per kilo, while Italian blueberries sell for under 15 euros. Blackberries from Mexico are priced up to 24 euros per kilo, and Italian redcurrants range between 15 and 24 euros.
