Russia's agricultural watchdog, Rosselkhoznadzor, has imposed temporary restrictions on the import of live poultry and poultry products from several European Union countries due to the spread of avian influenza. The restrictions, effective from late November, include certain regions of Germany, Poland, the UK, Sweden, Croatia, Denmark, Western Pomerania-Rügen, North Frisia, and the Netherlands. The ban covers live poultry, hatching eggs, and certain poultry products, but does not extend to feed and feed additives for birds, except for those of plant, chemical, or microbiological origin. The transit of live birds through Russia is also limited.
