Peru: Holidays will boost the sale of 1.64 million turkeys

For the 2025 Christmas and New Year holidays, the turkey supply will be 1.64 million units (one million 640 thousand turkeys), in order to meet consumer requirements, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI). For this year's supply, 1.61 million units come from national production (98%) and 27 thousand units come from imports (2%). In addition, it was announced that, of the total turkey available for the Christmas and New Year campaign, it is projected that 1.33 million units will be sold in corporate sales and through different supermarket chains as frozen whole processed turkey; while the difference, 314 thousand units, will be sold in poultry distribution centers as live turkey.
