In the first wheat auction of the 2025/26 season, Daniela Venturino, an analyst from the Buenos Aires Cereal Exchange, issued a very encouraging forecast about the upcoming wheat harvest in Argentina: A harvest of 22 million tons is expected, which is 18.3% higher than the previous year, especially due to an improvement in yields, which will be the result of a very generous year in terms of water supply to the crop.
This record wheat harvest will allow the country to have several other positive indicators: the Exchange expects that this harvest will be worth more than 4,665 million dollars, that exports will generate 2,294 million dollars, and that the State will collect about 802 million dollars from the chain in the form of withholdings and other taxes.
The head of the milling industry, Diego Cifarelli, however, spoke of a record wheat supply for 2026 of about 25 million tons, but this is because he added the carry over (remnant) from the last campaigns.
