In 2024, Russia experienced a 3% increase in dairy production, excluding ice cream, reaching 11.6 billion liters, with yogurt and processed cheese showing the highest growth rates. Yogurt production increased by 10.1% to 698 million liters, and processed cheese production increased by 8.9% to 319 million kg. Other dairy products such as cottage cheese, milk-containing products, desserts, and ultra-pasteurized milk also saw increases in production. Butter production increased by 1.6%. The Central Federal District led in dairy production, followed by the Volga and Siberian federal districts. This increase in production is attributed to a rise in consumer demand, with sales of dairy products in stable retail outlets rising by 8% in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.
