(Hongcheon=Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Sang-hak = Hongcheon County in Gangwon Province is showcasing the city's autumn charm through a variety of festivals and events to welcome the fall season.
Firstly, Hongcheon County is hosting the 23rd Ginseng and Hanwoo Premium Festival and the 10th Apple Festival simultaneously this year.
The focus is on enjoying premium agricultural products such as ginseng, Hanwoo, and apples to boost health.
A rich array of diverse programs has been prepared until the 2nd of next month.
Previously, various festivals were held in the Hongcheon region to welcome autumn.
From the 6th to the 8th, the 8th Seoseo Cosmos Festival was held in Seoseo-myeon.
Activities such as a "flower road walk" through the cosmos flower fields, a Hanwoo barbecue, trout fishing experience, local food booths, and performances by local artists attracted tourists.
Furthermore, from the 15th to the 18th, the "Starlight Film Festival and Night Market" was held at the rooftop garden of Hongcheon Central Market, offering a romantic outdoor festival.
Then, on the 24th, the "Taegeuk Ssukbul Festival" was held in Taegeum Village, Nam-myeon, themed around "Burning bad luck with ssuk grass and roasting memories in the romantic night market."
It was praised for providing a different kind of memory with various skewers grilled over ssuk grass fires, combined with lights, music, and performances.
Additionally, from the 25th to the 26th, the "Rural Traditional Culture Experience Event" was held at Sutasa Rural Theme Park, followed by the "2nd Kkae-bokneun Village Dori-kke Festival" in Jangjeonpyeong 1-ri, Hongcheon-eup, where the village community celebrated the autumn harvest together.
Moreover, from last September to next month, township and village-level sports competitions are being held sequentially.
A Hongcheon County official said on the 27th, "The 'Hongcheon 9 Scenic Spots' such as Palbongsan Mountain and the thousand-year-old Sutasa Temple are at their most beautiful time, and the festivals and events are turning them into healing spots," and added, "We will continue to operate various events that allow people to feel and experience the autumn."
