On Wednesday, December 10, young entrepreneur Samuel Diego, owner of the fish farm "Valle de América" and an associated tourist restaurant, reported the death of thousands of trout in his breeding ponds, located in the Chayllhuas area, Acostambo district, Huancavelica province and region. The causes of the event are under investigation by the police and specialized entities, which are analyzing a presumed contamination of the stream that supplies the ponds. The custodians, as well as the specialists, have collected samples and other evidence that may help determine the causes of the massive mortality.
