The Vietnam Cooperative Alliance is optimistic about the future of fruit exports due to a projected global market growth of 8.2% per year from 2019 to 2025. This growth is expected to reach $585.25 billion, presenting a significant opportunity for Vietnam, especially with the advantage of the EVFTA Agreement. The country already exports fruit to 60 countries and has received 998 area codes for growing fruits for export to high-value markets. However, there are challenges to be addressed, such as the need for investment, adherence to European regulations, and developing skills in logistics and post-harvest handling. Currently, most Vietnamese fruit exports are in raw or semi-processed form and there are concerns about quality, food hygiene, and safety.
