The Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE) has refuted claims that local mango marketers are using chemicals to speed up the ripening process. The organization insists that Ghanaian producers and markers follow good agricultural practices, allowing mangoes to ripen naturally. FAGE's president, Davies Korboe, has asked the creators of a viral video accusing local mango handlers of chemical use to retract it and apologize. Korboe also warned of foreign elements trying to undermine the local market and urged consumers to trust regulatory bodies for accurate information on locally produced food.
