The 42nd Convention of the International Kiwifruit Organization (IKO) took place in Curicó, Chile, bringing together kiwi-producing and exporting countries from around the world. The convention provided an opportunity for participants to analyze the global kiwi industry, identify common challenges and opportunities, and foster cooperation on issues such as phytosanitary measures and technical exchanges. Climate change, labor shortages, high production costs, and inflation were highlighted as significant challenges, while increased consumer awareness of the health benefits of kiwi and targeted promotional efforts were seen as potential avenues for growth.
