Shanghai hairy crabs, a expensive Chinese delicacy, have been successfully farmed in Vietnam, leading to lower prices for consumers. The crabs, which cost up to millions of VND/kg imported from China, only cost 100-120 thousand VND/kg to raise after 8-10 months. The low cost and high demand make it a profitable enterprise, with potential for seed production in Vietnam. Mr. Tran Van Chien, a farmer in Bac Giang, has seen success with this venture, selling over 2 tons of crabs worth over 1 billion VND.
