In 2023, the area of fruit and berry crops was reduced by 187.1 thousand hectares

The area of fruit and berry crops in Ukraine decreased to 187.1 thousand hectares in 2023 (-3.3%), but the average yield increased to 11.9 t/ha (+2.5%). Therefore, the gross collection of these crops in farms of all categories last year amounted to almost 2 million tons, which corresponds to the volume of the previous year. This is evidenced by the data of the State Statistics Service. Thus, by the end of the year, Ukraine harvested 1.32 million tons (+3.3%) of seeds, the area of which was reduced to 95.1 thousand hectares (-2.4%). Most of the harvest in this segment was apples — 1.17 million tons (+3.9%). Pears were collected 144.8 thousand tons (-1%). Last year, 445.4 thousand tons of stone fruits were grown (-7.7%), the plantations of which also decreased (-3.3%).
