In the 2023/2024 agricultural season, Ukraine saw a significant increase in exports of its main products, including a 40.6% rise in wheat and a 153.1% increase in sunflower oil, to 39 African countries, as reported by the Ministry of Economy. The Odesa region's ports played a crucial role in these exports. The Minister of Economy, Yuliya Svyridenko, has emphasized the need to boost the export capacity of all Black Sea ports, especially those in Mykolaiv, to ensure global food security.
