Over 5 years, per capita consumption of the product in the region has increased by 6.7% According to recently published data from Rosstat, in Mordovia, sugar consumption (including confectionery products converted to it) per person for 2024 reached 48 kg. This exceeded the average for the Volga Federal District by 29.7% (37 kg) and the all-Russian indicator by 23.1% (39 kg). Last year, by sugar consumption volumes, the republic became the first in the district and entered the top-5 regions in the country. In the all-Russian ranking, the largest amount of product per person was in Tambov Oblast – 56 kg, in Kursk and Lipetsk Oblasts – 54 kg each, in Voronezh Oblast, Republic of Adygea, Krasnodar Krai – 51 kg each, in the Republics of North Ossetia-Alania and Mordovia – 48 kg each, in Yaroslavl Oblast – 47 kg.
