In 2024/25 MY, the European Union will reduce rapeseed production, forecast

Analysts from Strategie Grains predict a drop in the EU's rapeseed production for the 2024/25 marketing year, with estimates at 18.4 million tons, a decrease of 1.4 million tons from the previous season. This is attributed to a reduction in oilseed sown areas to 5.6 million hectares. However, sunflower and soybean production are expected to rise to 10.7 million tons and 3.1 million tons, respectively. The sown areas for sunflowers will remain steady at 4.9 million hectares, while soybeans will see an increase to 1.1 million hectares.
