In 2025, the EU and the US, together with Ukraine and Russia, will significantly increase sunflower production

According to the forecast by Oil World experts (Germany), in 2025, due to favorable weather, oilseed production in the EU will grow by 3.5-4 million tons compared to last year's 5-year low of 29.1 million tons, including sunflower – from 8.8 to 10-10.3 million tons. In some countries, including Germany, Poland, France, and Hungary, soil moisture deficit still persists, while Romania and Bulgaria have experienced favorable rainfall, which will boost sunflower production from 1.9 to 2.3-2.4 million tons and from 1.6 to 2.1-2.2 million tons, respectively. Rapeseed production is expected to grow from 16.9 million tons (5-year low) to 19.2-19.4 million tons compared to last year, with the largest increases in Romania (by 1 million tons), Germany (0.3 million tons), France (0.3 million tons), and the Czech Republic (0.2 million tons).
