Ukraine is planning to increase its cotton sowing area significantly by 2025 and launch support programs for cotton producers. The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitaly Koval, announced this and revealed that the first cotton crop harvest is currently underway. Test plantations were planted in Odesa in 2024, and farmers received 110 kg of cotton seeds across more than 5 hectares. For the 2025 harvest, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy aims to expand this to 30,000 hectares and plans to implement financing programs for farmers.
