Mexico's agri-food exports reached a 29-year high in September 2021, with a value of $32,753 million and a trade surplus of $5.415 billion from January to September 2021, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Mexico (Sader). The exports were led by beer, tequila, mezcal, and avocados, with a total agri-food trade of $60,092 million. The agricultural and fishing balance had a positive balance of $1,046 million, and the agroindustrial products trade surplus was $4,369 million. There was also significant growth in exports of natural honey, citrus, and fresh raspberries, as well as tequila and mezcal, water and soft drinks, and frozen orange juice.
