As of the end of October, the cattle population in the region amounted to 380.4 thousand heads. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Saratov region, from January to September 2025, the region produced 557.9 thousand tons of milk, including 408.8 thousand tons in personal subsidiary farms, 124.9 thousand tons in agricultural organizations, and 24.2 thousand tons in farm partnerships. It is expected that by the end of the current year, Saratov farms will produce 725.0 thousand tons of milk. The average daily milk yield from one dairy cow in the reporting period was 18.7 kg. The Saratov region is 95% self-sufficient in milk production.
