The harvest of dragon fruit (pitaya), which holds a significant place in tropical fruit production in Mahmutlar Mahallesi, a district of Alanya in Antalya, has begun. The fruit, which is sold to market traders for up to 150 TL per kilogram depending on its size, is sent to both domestic and international markets.
