In an unprecedented move to reduce carbon emissions, Brazil uses a sailboat to export coffee and cocoa to Europe

Brazil will send a shipment of coffee and cocoa to Europe using a unique and ecologically sustainable means of transport. Each coffee bean has a special touch. The farm in Mococa, in the interior of São Paulo, grows completely organic coffee, meaning it does not use any type of pesticides. "Today, when we discover a disease, we see that there is a disease in the coffee crop, we use another microorganism to control it. So it's all a matter of understanding the principles of nature and always being aware of science, the techniques that the producers themselves have been developing", says agricultural engineer João Araújo. This form of cultivation has made its way into the international market. Six hundred tons of these beans have already been bagged for export and have made the first leg of the trip to the Port of São Sebastião, on the northern coast of São Paulo.
