Six investment projects aimed at fish and mussel farming in the Republic of Crimea, Russia, are underway, with a total investment of 135.7 million rubles. These projects, located in various regions, are focused on the production of mussels, oysters, trout, sturgeon, carp, and crucian carp, as well as sturgeon caviar. However, the production of mussels and oysters has seen a 22.3% decrease in 2023 compared to the previous year, totaling 1,072 tons. Despite this setback, exports of these products were maintained, reaching 83.78 tons to countries like Turkey, Tunisia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Italy. The region is also contemplating the establishment of a fish hatchery to address issues with fish seeding material delivery.
